Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 18, 2026
Babbl Baby LLC ("we", "us", "our") built Babbl Baby to help parents and caregivers track their baby's daily care. We understand that the information you share with us — about yourself and your children — is deeply personal. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and what control you have over it.
The short version: We collect only what's needed to make the app work. We don't sell your data. We don't let advertisers see it. Your children's data is used solely to provide you with the tracking and insights features you use the app for.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information — when you sign up using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive your name (or an alias, if you use Apple's Hide My Email feature) and email address. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
- Profile information — your display name, role (e.g., Mother, Father, Babysitter), and preferences (units, language, appearance).
- Children's information — name, date of birth, sex, and optional profile photo for each child you add.
- Care events — everything you log through the app: feeding details, sleep times, diaper changes, temperatures, symptoms, medications, growth measurements, checkup notes, immunization records, pumping sessions, and freeform notes.
- Chat messages — your conversations with the AI assistant, including the questions you ask and the events you describe.
- Allergies — allergy information you provide for your children.
- Support requests — any messages you send through the in-app support form.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — anonymized information about how you use the app, such as which features you access and how often. This data cannot be used to identify you or your children.
- Crash reports — if the app crashes, we receive anonymized technical information about what went wrong so we can fix it.
- Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version, used for compatibility and troubleshooting.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, we store a device token to deliver reminders and alerts. This token cannot be used to identify you personally.
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect your location
- We do not access your contacts, photos (beyond what you explicitly upload as a child's profile photo), or other device data
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Provide the app's core features — logging events, displaying your data in Hub/Calendar/Analytics, generating charts and insights, powering the AI assistant
- Process your chat messages — your messages are sent to OpenAI or Anthropic to understand what you're asking and respond. See Section 5 for details.
- Send you notifications — feeding reminders, medication timers, checkup reminders, and other alerts you configure
- Improve the app — anonymized usage data and crash reports help us fix bugs and build better features
- Provide customer support — when you contact us through the support form
We do NOT use your information to:
- Serve advertisements
- Build marketing profiles
- Sell or rent to any third party
- Train AI models
3. How We Share Your Information
With your family members: When you invite someone to your family, they can see events logged by all family members. Parents (Mother/Father) see all data including medical information. Other roles (Babysitter, etc.) see daily care events only. You control who is in your family and can remove members at any time.
With service providers: We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the app:
- AI chat processing (OpenAI and Anthropic) — receives your chat messages and child context (name, age). Neither provider trains on your data.
- Cloud data storage — stores all app data with encryption. Does not train on your data.
- App analytics — receives anonymized usage patterns. Does not train on your data.
- Crash reporting — receives anonymized crash logs. Does not train on your data.
All service providers process your data only to provide their service to us and for no other purpose.
We will also share information if:
- Required by law, legal process, or government request
- Necessary to protect the safety of a child, user, or the public
- Needed to enforce our Terms of Service
- Part of a business transfer (merger, acquisition) — in which case we will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy
We will NEVER:
- Sell your personal data or your children's data
- Share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- Allow any third party to use your data for their own marketing
4. Children's Privacy
Babbl Baby is designed for parents and caregivers aged 13 and older. Children do not use the app directly.
The app stores information about children (your babies) that you, the parent or caregiver, choose to enter. By using Babbl Baby to track your child's information, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have the parent or guardian's permission to enter this information.
We treat children's data with the highest level of care:
- Children's data is used solely to provide tracking and analytics features to you
- We do not create advertising profiles based on children's data
- We do not share children's data with third parties for any purpose other than operating the app
- We do not use children's data to train AI models
- Children's data is stored with the same encryption and security protections as all other app data
If you believe a child's information has been entered into Babbl Baby without proper parental consent, please contact us at support@babblbaby.ai and we will promptly delete it.
5. AI Processing
When you send a message to the AI assistant, the following information is sent to OpenAI or Anthropic (depending on the app's current configuration):
- Your message text
- Your name and role
- Your children's names and ages
- Recent conversation history (to maintain context)
- Current date and time (to resolve time references in your message)
OpenAI and Anthropic process this information solely to generate a response to your message. Neither provider retains your data beyond the immediate processing of your request, and neither uses your data to train or improve their AI models.
The AI assistant may occasionally produce inaccurate responses. Always review logged events for accuracy.
6. Data Security
We protect your data using:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) for all data sent between your device and our servers
- Encryption at rest for stored data
- Secure authentication through Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In
- Role-based access controls within the app (not all family members see all data)
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure
No system is perfectly secure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal data, we will notify affected users promptly in accordance with applicable law.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active and you continue using the app.
Inactive accounts: If you have not opened the app for 2 years, we will send you an email notification. If there is no response within 30 days, we will delete your account and all associated data.
Deleting your data:
- Individual events: You can delete events and children's data directly within the app at any time.
- Your entire account: Contact us at support@babblbaby.ai to request full account deletion. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
- Family data: If you are the family owner and delete your account, all family data (children, events, members) will be deleted. We will notify family members before this happens.
- After deletion: Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Anonymized, aggregated data (which cannot identify you or your children) may be retained for analytics purposes.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your data is visible within the app at any time
- Correct your data — you can edit events, child profiles, and your own profile
- Delete your data — see Section 7 above
- Export your data — contact us at support@babblbaby.ai to request a copy of your data
- Withdraw consent — you can stop using the app at any time; request account deletion to have your data removed
California residents (CCPA): You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@babblbaby.ai. We do not sell personal information as defined under CCPA.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes — especially to how we handle children's data or share information with third parties — we will notify you through the app and/or via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
